Statement regarding FSU Shooting

I am heartbroken by the tragedy that unfolded at Florida State University.

Lives have been lost and other lives are forever changed.  My heart is with the victims, their families, the FSU community, and all those grappling with grief and fear in the wake of this senseless act.

We should all be able to live, learn, and gather without the fear of gun violence. No student should worry about their safety on campus. No family should receive that call.

Now is the time to come together — not just in mourning, but in purpose. We must do more to protect our communities and ensure our schools are safe havens, not scenes of tragedy.
